A popular place for biking and hiking, the scenic small town of Ranchita entices with seemingly unlimited countryside. The mountain desert community, just over 4000 ft above sea level, has one of the most scenic drives up the Montezuma Grade. Ranchita, although remote, is only fifteen-minutes from the fine dining, golf, shopping, and art galleries of Borrego Springs. The Ranchita Rocks Festival just outside the Anzo-Borrego State Park in September has music, food, and comedy, while in the winter the cedar trees are often dusted with snow.
